The Main Ingredient – Magic Shoes

Formed in Harlem, New York in 1964, The Main Ingredient recorded a few singles as the Poets and the Insiders before signing to RCA.
Don McPherson died in 1971 from Leukemia and the band hired Cuba Gooding Sr. to take his place.
The band returned shortly after with the million-selling smash Everybody Plays the Fool, which hit number two R&B and number three pop to become the group’s biggest hit.
Magic Shoes which was sampled by Main Source in 1992 is taken from the Tasteful Soul album released in 1970.
